Japanese rider puts in plenty of laps around Almeria

As the winter break continues for the FIM Supersport World Championship riders, Hikari Okubo isn’t wasting any time as he underwent a two day test with his new team for 2018. Making the switch to Italian based Kawasaki Puccetti Racing in WorldSSP; Okubo will be alongside five time world champion Kenan Sofuoglu.

Heading to Spain to begin to understand the Kawasaki ZX-6R, the Japanese rider put in over 800km throughout the two days and began to work well with his new team. Focusing on team spirit, and keeping the relationship with his new crew high, it meant he was able to put in the best effort and could leave the test feeling confident into 2018.

Okubo was thrilled with his first experience: "My first experience on the Kawasaki was very positive! I immediately found myself comfortable on the bike and lap after lap my feeling improved and during these days of testing I worked a lot with the team, but I also happy. The team environment has allowed me to face this session in absolute relaxation, making sure I can ride my bike the best way. I'm looking forward to the next winter test session!"

Okubo and his team will be back on track in January 2018, as they continue to work with the WorldSSP machine to get up to race winning pace.
